There is still a Not for individual sale label attached to the back cover. The 96 page book is one of the hard to find scarce classic stories from the Mouse Works Series.

The beautifully illustrated book has a Walt Disney inscription on the inside cover which captures his philosophy perfectly. There is more treasure in books than all the pirates’ loot on Treasure Island and at the bottom of the Spanish Main…..And best of all, you can enjoy these riches every day of your life.

1966 Pinocchio Classic Golden Book Carlo Collodi This oversized 10 inch wide by 13 1/2 inch long book is entitled, Pinocchio Beloved Classic by Carlo Collodi. This is a complete, unabridged edition, 2nd printing, Deluxe Golden Book published in 1966 by Golden Press, NY.

Book is based on the famous illustrated classic written by Carlo Lorenzini in 1880, who signed his manuscript with the pseudonym, Collodi (the name of the village his mother came from). Born in Florence, Italy on Nov. 24, 1826 Collodi was a soldier, teacher and journalist. He edited newspapers and reviews in addition to writing many articles for adults and children. Of all of his writings, this is the book for which he is most remembered.

Pinocchio embodies the joys and trials of childhood. It is hailed as one of the true classics which has been told throughout many generations.

Book is illustrated in full color by Sergio Rizzato. Drawings are bright and vivid and the attention to detail greatly enhances the message the author is trying to convey.

Book is in very good condition. There is a slight tear to the bottom corner binding, but all pages are in tact, and binding is tight with no loose or torn pages.

The hard cover book, first published in 1947, had a new printing in 1975. Since that time, the book has gained much recognition for its story content and subtle life lessons. The book is in very fine condition with its only issues being creased areas on the left side top and bottom of the cover. The binding is tight, the pages are not torn or dog-eared, and there are no marks, writings on any of its pages.

Illustrations by the author are done in brown, white and russet, orange color tones and are found on all of the book’s 40+ pages. A difficult to find, very collectible book, which is certain to increase in value.
