1012

Capodimonte/Limoges Porcelain Girl Clown Figurine Petite in height at 4 1/4 inches and 2 1/2 inches across from one clown shoe to the other, this little girl clown figurine is superbly done in white Limoges porcelain with gold enhancements for the juggling balls, over-sized bow tie, cuffs and trim on her coat, and those pointed shoes. The two Swarovski crystals are in the button closures for the clown’s coat.

A gold foil label written in Italian reads: Oggetti Realizzati Con Impasti Di Limoges E Applicazioni Di Autentico Cristallo Swarovski and Made in Italy with a crown over the letter N mark. There is also a blue backstamp with the crown over the letter N which probably denotes the Ginori factory in Doccia, Italy.

Wherever she is displayed – on a dresser, shelf, or curio cabinet, this little clown is sure to bring a smile to whoever sees her. She’s whimsical, charming, wonderfully sculpted and in excellent condition, without any chips, cracks or flakes.

1608

Orion Occupied Japan 12 Inch Formal Gentleman Figurine Wearing a tri-cornered hat with a rose decoration, this elegant well-dressed gentleman makes an imposing figurine. Green, pink, and white are the main colors used by the artist for his fancy laced shirt, frock coat, knickers paired with high socks and buckled shoes. Highlighting his clothing is an over-all gold beading treatment, reminiscent of the Japanese moriage treatment.

This dashing figure of a man sits on a 3 1/2 inch wide base with blades of grass beneath his feet. The figure which is in excellent condition is stamped in red under the base with the Orion name, Japan. 1617

Santini Marble/Alabaster Statue Madonna and Child-Italy Beautiful classic styling on this ivory color Madonna and Child statuary produced by the A. Santini Studios of Italy. Measuring 6 1/2 inches across the base, and standing 8 inches tall, this Mother and Child sculpture combines both classic and modern elements. The curved sweeping form seems to envelop the Madonna and Child as one, in serenity and love.

The sculpture is composed of a blending of white Carrera marble and Alabaster into a resin-like material. Over time, the white marble develops a soft natural ivory patina. The Santini artisans create museum quality statuary and this example, from the seventies, will continue to grow in collectible value. There are no damage issues on this Madonna and Child and the A. Santini signature is inscribed in back of the Madonna’s gown along with a foil label under the base.

The figurine stands on a 4 inch oval base, her left hand praising the Lord and her right hand cradling the Choir Hymns book. You can almost hear the words and music from Amazing Grace fill the air (this is printed on the inside of book).

Finely detailed resin composition from her facial features and expression, to those delicately sculpted hands and even the folds and pleats of her purple choir robe, this is a statue of excellent craftsmanship. There is a metal medallion in place under the base, numbered 1873 of a 5000 Limited Edition Series, with the Duncan Royale name.

When people say at times, that they don’t make them like they used to, here’s one figurine that puts a finger in the eye of that expression. Duncan Royale makes them just fine – Hallelujah and Amen! There are no issues with this special Gospel Singer collectible, simply wonderful artistry and design.

Click for more detail...
1277

1987 Phase II Little Red Riding Hood Resin Figurine This traditional, classic look Red Riding Hood was manufactured in 1987 by Phase II and is marked with their logo, date and mold number 1896. The resin figure stands 7 1/4 inches tall on a 4 1/4 inch scalloped base (which is actually the fur trimmed edging of her cloak/cape).

During the 1980’s, such companies as Phase II and Wood World produced many fine resin sculptures done by artists such as Gary Hartman, Dean Troutman, Delpha Jenson, Shirley Wilsa, and many others who afterward went on to design on their own. Many of these designs are unique, one-of-a-kind figurines no longer being made.

Sold exclusively then through such upscale craft stores as Lee Wards, the resin figurines were left in their natural, unpainted state accompanied by acrylic painting suggestions and finishing treatment. We do not have any accompanying paperwork or original box with this Little Red Riding Hood figurine, but we know that the fine detailing and classic lines of this statuary can be enjoyed as is or completed in a buyer’s color palette.
