Noritake Azalea Sugar Bowl with Lid-Old Backstamp Measuring 3 5/8 inches to the top of the lid, this elegant handpainted Noritake sugar bowl has vivid and bright coloring and no loss to the gold trim. In appearance, it looks to have been only displayed or tucked away.

There are a few ink dots under the glaze which occurred during the manufacturing process. They are so tiny that our pictures did not capture them, but we want to mention them for the sake of accuracy.

The sugar bowl is stamped in green under the base with the M in Wreath, Handpainted, and the pattern #19322.

1095

Norcrest Kitchen Prayer Wall Hanger Skillet Design Prayer wall hangers were a popular part of the 1950’s/1960’s kitchen décor. After that time period, they were not so easily found or displayed.

This Norcrest, made in Japan wall hanger/pocket measures 8 3/4 inches long and is 8 inches wide. A skillet/fry pan in design, this piece has a 1 inch by 3 1/2 inch pocket, and a prayer in script which begins, God Bless My Little Kitchen, I Love Its Every Nook, and Bless Me as I Do My Work, Wash Pots, Pans and Cook. As We Partake of Earthly Food, the Table for Us Spread, We’ll Not Forget to Thank Thee, Who Gives Us Daily Bread.

Complementing the prayer are flowers in yellow, mauve, and blue with green leaves. No chips, cracks or flakes on this lovely wall hanger, but there is crazing on its surface and some lightening of the poem’s script. A partial Norcrest label remains on the backside along with printed #P363.

761

Silverplate Fork and Spoon Tongs Combo-Scissor Handle A wonderful 8 1/2 inch long fork and spoon combination joined by scissor grip handle and marked with the words silverplate and zinc alloy. Not totally certain what the correct term is for this old implement, but it does seem likely that this fork and spoon could have been used to serve or dish out fruit for example – especially hard to pick up ones like berries or cantaloupe balls.

The silverplated combination utensil is in fine vintage condition with embossed scroll and leaf design on the back of the fork and spoon, and on the handle portion. There is slight age spotting on this utensil , but there are no dents, or dings and the scissor grip device works well.

Antigua Folk Art Wooden Box Fish/Sauce Server w/ Forks This is a marvelous native Antiguan Folk Art wooden box with hand carved sailfish design on top and bottom that was purchased at an estate sale. This very interesting piece had been bought in Antigua by the man’s parents and its use is similar to a pu-pu or appetizer tray.

On the inside, the box has decorative carvings that surround twelve round pods (6 to a side) and two oblong shaped depressions, (one on either side). The two sides are hinged together, and when opened on a table, the pods would be filled with fish, seafood, and sauces.

The set comes with six mini forks that are marked, Stainless Japan. The artist’s name, G. Julian, Antigua is etched into the side of the box. This Antigua box is in very fine condition, and when you bring it to your table, you’ll be adding a tropical island flair to any get-together.

Vintage Mirro Omelet Maker Pan with Printed Recipes This vintage handy Omelet Maker Pan made by Mirro looks to have been hardly used.

Pan measures 9 1/2 inches when open and about 1 1/4 inches deep, which excludes the cover portion. Done in a canary yellow finish, each side had a printed recipe.

The top side tells you how to make a French omelet, including ingredients and cooking instructions, and the bottom side has the recipe for a Puffy omelet. Pan can be used both on the stove and in the oven, but is not for use with the oven broiler.

Pan is in great condition, free of any major dents or stains. The wording and graphics have very slight wear, but are in tact and can be easily read.

740

West Bend Vintage Stoneware Handled Pot–Barbecue Use You could probably call this a forerunner of the slow cooker or crock pot used over a barbecue grill. The West Bend stoneware Barbecue is 5 1/4 inches tall with a 6 1/4 inch wide top opening. The Just Rite yellow and red graphics feature barbecued meat on a bun illustration.

The pot is hefty, side handled, and is without cracks, chips, or nicks. The base area shows darkening where it was used in the great outdoors but overall, it is in very good vintage condition, and stamped with the West Bend name.

We do not know if this crock originally came with a cover, because we were not able to find any history on this type of West Bend Barbecue.
