Originally created by Walt Disney Productions to promote the Florida citrus industry and children’s healthy nutrition, the Florida Orange Bird appeared on many different items from the 1960’s through the 1970’s.
This is a rarely found, Florida Orange Bird collectible plate with plastic display stand. The colors on this plate appear as vivid as when it was first made, most likely in the late 60’s-70’s time frame. The surrounding border, done in an orange spongeware treatment, enhances and complements the orange bird design.
The plate measures 7 3/4 inches in diameter, has the Walt Disney name, and Japan stamped on the backside, and is without any chips, cracks or nicks. |
