A lovely combination of cobalt blue glass nestled inside a silver plated, open work sleeve. Both the salt and pepper shakers stand 3 5/8 inches tall to the tops, which allows for filling with a threaded screw-off lid.

The open silver plated design of lines, crests, and hearts is classic in its styling and allows the deep blue coloration of the glass to shine through. The individual lids are marked with the letters S and P, and are surrounded with additional pouring holes.
Under the glass on the pepper base is the #1, and #5 appears under the salt base. Both the salt and pepper have U.K. Pat# 1014132 incised in the metal edging on the base.
These are vintage 1950’s salt and pepper shakers, purchased at an estate sale, and are in first-rate vintage condition with no chips or nicks to the glass or flaws on the silverplating. |
