This vintage western, cowboy style hat was hand shaped and manufactured by the American Hat Co. of Houston Texas. The hat still has the original tags from the Just Boots store in Cleveland, Texas where it was purchased. Also the leather sweat band inside the hat is embossed with the Just Boots name, and marked Double XX, Fur Blend.
The satin inner lining does have the American Hat Co.

name and logo. The size 7 hat is light beige in color and has a 4 inch brim and a 5 inch crown. It appears to match the Alpine style, one of the hand crafted shapes offered to American Hat customers.
With the cowboy hat, we will include the Resistol hat box that was part of our estate purchase. There are no tears or rips, but there is some age related discoloration to the crown area. The American Hat Co. does state that their hats clean well, but we have not attempted to do this. |
