This traditional, classic look Red Riding Hood was manufactured in 1987 by Phase II and is marked with their logo, date and mold number 1896. The resin figure stands 7 1/4 inches tall on a 4 1/4 inch scalloped base (which is actually the fur trimmed edging of her cloak/cape).
During the 1980’s, such companies as Phase II and Wood World produced many fine resin sculptures done by artists such as Gary Hartman, Dean Troutman, Delpha Jenson, Shirley Wilsa, and many others who afterward went on to design on their own. Many of these designs are unique, one-of-a-kind figurines no longer being made. Sold exclusively then through such upscale craft stores as Lee Wards, the resin figurines were left in their natural, unpainted state accompanied by acrylic painting suggestions and finishing treatment. We do not have any accompanying paperwork or original box with this Little Red Riding Hood figurine, but we know that the fine detailing and classic lines of this statuary can be enjoyed as is or completed in a buyer’s color palette. |
