You could probably call this a forerunner of the slow cooker or crock pot used over a barbecue grill. The West Bend stoneware Barbecue is 5 1/4 inches tall with a 6 1/4 inch wide top opening. The Just Rite yellow and red graphics feature barbecued meat on a bun illustration.
The pot is hefty, side handled, and is without cracks, chips, or nicks. The base area shows darkening where it was used in the great outdoors but overall, it is in very good vintage condition, and stamped with the West Bend name.
We do not know if this crock originally came with a cover, because we were not able to find any history on this type of West Bend Barbecue. |
