Baseball fans, this 1993 Bradford Exchange collection of the Delphi, Legends of Baseball is a complete sixteen plate set of some of the early legends of the game. Some names may already be familiar ones, like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Ty Cobb. Others may be names of players talked about by parents and grandparents like Rogers Hornsby, Mel Ott, Shoeless Joe Jackson, and Grover Cleveland Alexander for example.
Without a doubt, there are many great players today who will be the legends of tomorrow. Isnt it a fantastic opportunity to own a collection that includes so much of the history of baseball? All sixteen plates are made of fine porcelain, rimmed in 22k gold. Artist Jeff Barson rendered the paintings on every plate except for the Number One Issue. Babe Ruth, The Called Shot was painted by Brent Benger. Two plates (Gehrig and Hornsby) are missing the COA, the original Certificate of Authenticity, but all the Bradford Exchange, artist, and Delphi information is printed on the backside of every plate.
