Newell China, a division of Knowles China, produced this Norman Rockwell porcelain plate back in 1982. It was the first issue in the Rockwell Tour Collection which was based on the postcards that Mr. Rockwell sent when he toured England with his friends Bill, Dean, and Norm in 1927.

What is so special about this series of collectible plates is that they are done in a caricature cartoon type style – quite different from the hundreds of life-like illustrations Rockwell had become famous for. The 7 1/2 inch in diameter plate comes in the original box, is marked with number 19334E, and was limited to 150 firing days before being closed. These postcard themed plates were endorsed by the Rockwell Society of America and that information is on the back of plate. |
