The Bretagne area of France is noted for its beautiful coastline and rugged cliffs. Breton’s Celtic heritage is celebrated yet today and can be enjoyed in both its art and music. This 7 1/2 inch in diameter plate is a fine example of this French/Celtic combination.
Done on a white background, the center of the plate is a scene with a gentleman playing bagpipes, serenading his lady love. The background of the shore line and lighthouse add to the Breton look, as does the embossed white on white scrolling which surrounds the rim. This decorative plate has no damage issues, and is stamped with a green banner on the backside which reads, Décor Artistique. A stand will be included with the Bretagne plate to make it display ready. |
