What a blending of political, social and entertainment stories all in one 140 page magazine! Harper’s, Nov. 1967 issue featured an article by David Halberstam on John Kenneth Galbraith, one of the leading economic minds of the day. Other featured stories included the Social/Industrial Complex, and Voice From a Cloud by Truman Capote in which he discusses his very early short story writings, and the published release of Other Voices, Other Rooms when he was only 23 years old.
Alfred Kazin’s article on his trip to Israel just shortly after their victorious six day war profiles both the people and imagery of the country. Larry Kings’s Everybody’s Louis gives the reader new insights of Satchmo. Age related browning to the pages and wear to the cover, but no rips, tears or markings. |
