One of the natural wonders of Quebec can be found near the village of Perce off the Gaspe Peninsula. It is a natural limestone formation rising out of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, forming an arch 88 meters high and over 400 meters long.
This blue and white porcelain bell commemorates the Perce village and limestone rock formation which is visited by thousands of tourists each year. In both a French and English description, the bell has a brief history of Perce which was destroyed by British frigates and rebuilt with the wonder of the Perce rock as a back drop.
The tribute bell measures 5 inches tall and has a 2 3/4 inch in diameter base. The center front has a blue transfer print of the village with Perce written above the scene and Gaspesie written beneath. The limestone clapper has a strong, resonant sound and the bell has no damage issues. |
