Inside the cover of the 14 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch wooden box, the marking reads, Siamese Art, Behind the Erauan Hotel & Pleonghit Rd, Bangkok with trademark of Siamese dancer figure.

The official name change from Siam to Thailand occurred in 1949 and our belief is that this two pronged 10 1/2 inch long fork, and 13 inch long carving knife were created in the late forties time period. Intricate Buddha decorations adorn the handles of the two brass and Bakelite utensils, and each is marked Siam on the backside. The boxed serving/carving set is in fine vintage condition with only slight age related wear.
