Possibly best known and recognized for his card playing dogs and stylish, tasteful pin-up calendars, Arthur Sarnoff also painted a variety of very collectible clown portraits. This framed print measures 12 x 10 1/2 inches and features Elmo the Clown in his large ruffled red and white collar, and a small straw hat with blue band and red feather perched on his head.
This vintage litho, signed by the artist, also carries the name of the lithographer, Arthur A. Kaplan, Inc. of New York City, and is in very good condition with some wear and small chips on the hardwood frame. |
