This wonderful classic Mickey Mouse still bank stands 9 inches tall, is approximately 5 inches across at his shoe base and is constructed in two pieces and screwed together. The coin slot for Mickey is on the back of his head, but in order to access your money savings, you need to undo the screw in the middle of his back, which holds the front and back together.
We believe that the CN 42 marking on the interior front portion indicates the year date that our friend Mickey was produced, although we have not been able to gather any information about the cast iron manufacturer.
Mickey does have some areas of age related rust, especially on his face and hands, but that just seems to add to his charming Mouse character. Those pie crust eyes were featured only during the time of Mickey’s birth in 1928 until the 1940’s.
The most recognized cartoon mouse is one fine collectible bank for the vintage Mickey fan, and weighs in at a hefty 6 lbs. 8 oz. before packaging. |
