This is a visually stunning glass wine decanter standing 15 3/4 inches tall to the edge of the lip and measuring 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches across the base. A regal looking figure of King Louis of France is embossed on the front panel with large grape clusters on the side panels. Marked with the letter V in a Circle under the base, the decanter was produced by Vitro Glass, formerly known as Vidriera Glass of Monterrey, Mexico. This glass manufacturer, founded in the early 1900’s, is one of the oldest and largest glass makers in the world.
There is some loss to the gold tone on the spigot, but this does not detract from the decanter’s look. We did fill the bottle with water and upon opening the spigot, water flows well, and closes to shut off. Whether you choose to put this wine decanter to actual use, or make it a focal point of a barware display, this tall vintage green glass decanter will serve you well. |
