What a wonderful caricature sculpture this lady is! TheMom/Grandma gardener measures 6 1/2 inches tall, dressed in pink sundress, pink sneakers, wide brimmed hat with fabric flowers, and those shades. Our pink lady is holding a trowel in her right hand and a cluster of fabric flowers in her left hand.
Diana Manning has created a wonderful series of shelf sitter figurines called, Family of Friends. These are figures we all could recognize, somewhat exaggerated in their appearance, but that’s also what makes them so much fun and charming. For her creations, Ms. Manning uses a blending of clay with polymer resins and adds those special touches like the fabric flowers.
The shelf sitter comes with a neat wooden bench/chair which may not be original to the piece, but certainly works well with the gardening lady. Stamped under the base, D. Manning, Limited Edition. |
