Manufactured in Hong Kong in 1978, this vintage George Good music box piano is in wonderful condition. It measures 6 inches from front to back, and is 4 1/2 inches at the widest point. The box is an acrylic/Lucite construction with a painted musical note gold decoration on the top. The piece stands on three peg-like metal feet, and the music is played by winding the key mechanism on the backside, and lifting the top cover to start and stop.
The musical drum can be seen revolving as the musical Tomorrow plays. The metal music box is embossed, Sankyo, Japan. There is a hang tag lying loose inside the piano interior which reads George Good Musical and the reverse states, Tomorrow. In addition, there is a foil label in place on the underside of the piano with the manufacturer’s name, year date of 1978, and Hong Kong. The only note we make is of some minor scratches to the piano top’s acrylic surface. There is a velour material lining the interior of the piano which could be used for small jewelry items or keepsakes. |
