All of the books measure 11 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches and were published by Random House, N.Y. 1) Horton Hatches the Egg – Mayzie the bird needs someone to nest sit her unhatched egg so that she can take a vacation. Horton the elephant comes to her rescue for fifty-one difficult weeks of egg care. What hatches from the egg? You’ll be surprised!
Published 1968, full color and rhyming text. The only note we make is of slight crinkling to the pages (no creases or fold-overs) The binding is strong, tight and there are no rips, or markings.
2) Horton Hears a Who – Horton the elephant hears only a very small sound coming from the top of a speck of dust. Through high jungle tree tops, other animals said, Horton must be out of his head. When a bird snatches the who family away, Horton goes on a mission to save them.
Published 1982, full color and rhyming text. The cover is tight and strong, with the only not we make is of a line incised on the back cover. There are no rips, tears or writings within the book.
3) Dr. Seuss’s Sleep Book – Inside and back cover both have great illustration with caption, This book is to read in bed. Creatures everywhere need sleep, and Dr. Seuss makes the goose, moose, and all his other animal friends part of the dreaming, talking in your sleep story.
Published in 1962, full color illustrations and rhyming text. Book is in excellent condition with no rips or tears, writings or markings and a sturdy cover with hardly any wear.
4) Oh, the Places You’ll Go – A fun to read book about life’s ups, downs, and turn-arounds all in rhyming text in its 48 pages.
Published in 1990, this book is in excellent condition without any rips, tears, or markings. There is light crinkling on some pages (no creases) and the binding is tight and strong.
5) Yertle the Turtle And Other Stories – Yertle is king of all he sees. Not content to keep his feet on the ground, he builds a tower of turtles so he can climb to the top and see for miles. Mack the turtle topples the tower and Yertle comes tumbling back to earth.
Published in 1991, full color illustrations, rhyming text and a picture of Dr. Seuss on the back cover. No damage issues to the pages, and only light edge wear on the corners of the cover.
6) The Lorax – The classic story of the gentle creature who fights the Once-ler to fix pollution. Published in 1971, this book is in fine vintage condition with no rips or markings, just crinkling to some pages.
