There is such magnificent detailing on this miniature 3 1/4 inch in diameter bronze and cloisonné treatment medallion that resembles the intricate workings of an Amish quilting design. The band of metal hearts and circles that surround the outside edging is done in a golden amber color.
Going toward the center of the medallion, there are larger hearts, circles, and swirls enameled in jade green, deep blue and amber color enamel. At the center, there is a design of a flower petal in amber and the blue.
Description really doesn’t do justice to the fine handiwork embodied in the design pattern. This medallion needs to be seen up close and personal. A pierced opening on the backside has a looped copper wire in place making this vintage cloisonné piece ready for display. Embossed on the backside are Kallitechniki, Takoyssi, Moschato Greece. |
