This old collectible is a Model 77U, RCA Victor Victrola with a backside foil Golden Throat label as certified by the reproduced signature of their sound engineer, DD Cole. This combination AM radio and record player measures approximately 17 3/4 x 18 3/4 x 10 inches tall.

There are two operating dials on the front. On the right side is the AM station rotary dial. On the left, is the dial marked, Off, Radio, or Phonograph. In the center of this dial is a small knob for volume control.

There are some issues to mention. As soon as you rotate the power switch to Radio, you get a hum. The radio has 6 tubes, so if this is caused by a bad tube or something else, we donít know. Also, the turntable does rotate when turned on, but we do not have a needle to play a record. In addition, when switched to Phonograph, the Victrola still hums, so that it would be difficult to hear the record playing.

Although the wooden case does have some scuffs and scratches, it is in good vintage condition for its sixty-five years of age. This model 77U would make a fine display piece, or a wonderful functioning old-time Victrola if someone has the knowledge to get it working correctly.

This unit is heavy, weighing 28 pounds before packaging. We will be utilizing UPS Ground Insured shipping to customers within the U.S. only. Please email your zip code/location for shipping quote.
