This marvelous pottery bell was sold through Mesa Verde Pottery located in Cortez, Colorado. Mesa Verde sells Native American Indian hand-made items through a specialty trading post gallery. All the items purchased from Indian craftsmen and women had to be marked with the Mesa Verde Pottery name, the artist’s name and tribal affiliation.

The pottery bell was crafted by R. Yazzie, whose name is inscribed inside the bell, along with Mesa Verde Pottery, Navajo, and year dated 1981. The wind chime bell stands 10 1/2 inches tall, and flares out to 5 1/4 inches at the bottom. The unglazed bell is decorated in native symbols, tepee structures, and finished in earth tone colors.

Hanging below the bell opening is a 5 inch diamond shaped piece acting as a sail to catch the wind. There is also a 3 inch clapper inside the bell. Start or add to your Southwest décor with the Yazzie Navajo wind chime bell which combines function and wonderful artistry.
