The artistry and skill that created this grass reed/rush scene is quite marvelous to see. A kneeling Native American woman, with a sleeping child wrapped snuggly to her back, is weaving an article on the loom. What that finished textile might be is only a best guess perhaps it is a rug or blanket in the making.

The red, green, and gold colors used in this glass covered print are vivid and bright, and are complemented by the cherry tone of the Burnes of Boston wooden frame. The name Nicoma is the only identification (lower left corner) on this lovely 7 x 5 inch total size scene, which would be a wonderful addition to a Native American display.
