This is a fantastic vintage fabric art print, measuring 21 x 18 1/2 inches total framed size, with the image measuring 18 1/2 x 16 inches. This original print has no glass top covering. The fabric is the display surface. Depicted is a scene of War Elephants in battle with their riders (mahouts) and army warriors perched on top of the platform or howdah. The fighters with the side flaps of chain mail or plate armor are likely Thai warriors, battling Persian or Indian army members on the other side.

Notice the assortment of spears and javelins available to the fighting men. The scene, filled with fine details, is an intense one. The earthy colors - brown, black, gray and white tones, work well with the sense of urgency the scene portrays.

This appears to be a silk screen print and some of the streaks or lines of the fabric show through to the battle scene. They do not, however, detract from the over-all appearance of this unique hardwood framed art print, ready for hanging with picture wire in place on the backside.
